BAX Global Keeps Microsoft’s Big Secret
14 March 2006
Maintaining Exceptional secrecey in one of the most complex gaming launches in the industry, BAX Global executed nearly 90 dedicated 747 air charters to airlift Microsoft’s Xbox 360 systems all over the world.
As Microsoft’s primary air transportation carrier, BAX Global was enlisted into the planning process more than a year in advance of the product launch. Microsoft bypassed the request for proposal process to maintain the necessary level of secrecy regarding the Xbox 360 launch.
Microsoft needed significant airlift capacity to support the launch and worked with BAX a year ahead to lock in sufficient capacity. BAX Global responded to a challenge whose complexity was compounded by the need for secrecy. BAX couldnt divulge details such as product, destination, or client, and used best-in-class security measure, both in transit and at delivery.
BAX Global continues to support distribution of the entertainment system worldwide as the Xbox 360 becomes available in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Mexico and Columbia throught 2006.
